Jerry Ridgway, whilst Associate Partner with Henry Butcher International Ltd., realised that a huge gap in the commercial market was opening up as health & safety issues started to bite into trading, construction and mining trades. 

With a background in marine, mining and heavy plant sales and engineering plus having managed projects as large as the asset disposal programme for TML Eurotunnel on the Channel Tunnel Project, Falklands Islands construction asset sales and as Managing Director for John Laing Plc. Tool hire division, he teamed up with Charles Rodgers who brought to the Company long experience in accountancy, buying, retail trading and restaurant ownership and together they formed the backbone of the Explorer Associates Group Trading. 

The Company has developed rapidly into clear divisions including experienced project management, health, welfare and safety consultancy, specialised auditing and accident investigations. 

In over 6 years the Company has a client base to be envied, having on going consultancies with Companies including Henry Butcher International, GoIndustry, DoveBid and Hilco Auctioneers and private treaty agents, East Kent Education, Williams Transport Ltd., Wrightsure Insurance Agents and Grasslands Turf Ltd. 

Completed projects have been undertaken with Organisations including BP Oils & Chemicals Plc., Walker Construction Ltd., Rentokil Initial Laundries, Rand Gold Mining, Island Copper Mining, Rover Group and Flowserve Pumps Ltd. 

Explorer Associates have completed projects all over Europe, West and South Africa, Romania and Canada. 

Mandy Gardiner joins the Board after three years of running the office as manager and is promoted to Director level. Mandy has a back ground in secretarial and office management including TML, Trans Manche Link.

The team head up an operation that sticks to it’s roots in providing tailor made management and consultancy to their clients, as required – where ever and when ever they need it!

• Explorer Associates have an excellent track record in specialised auditing and reporting on stores, spares and holding stock – including clients such as BP Oils and Chemicals Plc.
   
• Accident investigations on behalf of the client identify blame and failings in the work place; prepare reports for legal challenges and defences, provide experienced managers to introduce crisis management onto the shop floor and up to director level – all part of the services available from Explorer Associates Group.
   
•  Asset sale and management off the site on behalf of the customer, providing a full audit trail, client account facility and control of invoiced goods, payments and VAT disciplines for over seas projects.

The team are active throughout Europe, Romania, South and West Africa and have Associates in those areas able to react to local and emergency instructions/problem solving.
